In recent years, the use of micro-drip irrigation in open fields has been increasing, encompassing both drip irrigation and micro-sprinkler irrigation. Among these, field micro-sprinklers are the most widely adopted. To control costs and facilitate installation and operation, PE flexible tubing is currently the standard material used for field micro-sprinklers.
I. Product Features of PE Soft Strips:
1. PE flexible hoses are manufactured from polyethylene resin with the addition of certain additives. They feature high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, superior wear resistance, and a long service life. Our company offers a wide variety of hose types, with common sizes including nominal diameters of 50 mm, 63 mm, 75 mm, and 90 mm (outer diameter when filled with water). Wall thicknesses range from 0.6 mm to 1.6 mm, allowing customers to select the most suitable hose based on their specific application requirements.
2. Labor savings and reduced production costs. In irrigation systems, the use of PE flexible tubing in conjunction with water pumps connects water sources directly to crop fields, replacing traditional surface irrigation methods such as furrow irrigation, border irrigation, and flood irrigation with PE hoses. This seamless integration of water sources and cultivated land significantly reduces labor requirements and lowers the physical workload for users.
3. Conserve water resources and enhance the efficiency of water and fertilizer use. By employing PE drip tapes for low-pressure irrigation, water and fertilizers are delivered directly to the soil near the crop roots, thereby reducing seepage and evaporation losses along the irrigation lines. During irrigation, no surface runoff or deep percolation occurs, which helps prevent nutrient loss due to water leaching and improves the utilization efficiency of chemical fertilizers.
II. How to Connect PE Soft Tape with Micro-Sprinkler Tape
PE soft strap (Hoses) are widely used in agricultural irrigation. They are easy to lay on the ground surface and simple to recycle, often serving as water-delivery pipelines that connect to micro-sprinkler tapes. During installation, the connection between the micro-sprinkler tape and the PE hose should be determined based on the layout of the micro-sprinkler tape.
When the micro-sprinkler tape is laid on both sides of the PE drip tape to irrigate crops on both sides simultaneously, a four-way valve for drip tape can be used to connect the PE drip tape and the micro-sprinkler tape. (A steel clamp of the corresponding model, together with a rubber gasket, is used to securely fasten the connection between the drip tape and the four-way valve; the micro-sprinkler tape is connected to the side of the four-way valve equipped with a valve, requiring no additional components—simply insert the micro-sprinkler tape into that side and secure it with a retaining ring.)
For greenhouses, the drip tape is typically laid along one side of the structure, with the micro-sprinkler tape installed on the same side as the drip tape. In this configuration, a four-way connector for the drip tape is no longer used; instead, a drip-tape perforator is employed to create holes in the drip tape, followed by the installation of duckbill bypass valves, after which the micro-sprinkler tape can be connected.
III. Use of PE Soft Tape in Combination with Drip Irrigation Tape
When connecting PE soft tubing to drip irrigation tape, a bypass connection using a soft-tube bypass fitting or a soft-tube bypass valve is used for single-sided tape placement; for double-sided tape placement, a three-way connector for the soft tubing is employed.
