Introduction to the Performance Characteristics of Dian Micro-Sprinkler Tape

Field micro-sprinkler tape is a type of irrigation equipment that simulates natural rainfall in agricultural fields; it is commonly referred to as sprinkler tape or water-spraying tape and is now widely used. The principle behind it is to directly create micro-holes, 0.5 to 1 millimeter in diameter, along the pipe for water discharge. Under a certain pressure—typically 3 to 10 meters of water head—the water jets out of these holes to a height of several tens of centimeters up to one meter.
Field micro-sprinkler tape It is a rainfall simulation device that can replicate field rainfall, commonly referred to in the public as a spray tape or water-spraying tape, and is currently a widely used irrigation equipment. Its principle is to directly create micro-holes 0.5–1 mm in diameter along the pipe for water discharge; under a certain pressure (3–10 meters of water head), water sprays out from these holes to a height of several tens of centimeters up to one meter.
Common specifications include φ20, φ25, φ32, φ40, φ50, and φ63—simple, convenient, and practical. Simply lay the micro-sprinkler tape at regular intervals across the field to deliver irrigation water directly; it is easy to deploy, retract, and maintain. The requirements for irrigation water are significantly lower than those for drip irrigation, and the system exhibits strong resistance to clogging, typically requiring only basic filtration before use. It operates at low working pressure and consumes little energy.
During irrigation, the system is not constrained by the size of the rotational irrigation area; each water hose is equipped with its own valve, allowing the number of hoses to be increased or decreased on-site according to the available system pressure, making operation highly convenient. In production, when subsurface drip irrigation tapes are used, the system functions essentially as a drip irrigation system. Currently, this subsurface tape irrigation method is widely adopted for greenhouse vegetables, field-grown watermelons, strawberries, Hami melons, and other crops. When laying the irrigation tapes, orienting the outlets downward creates a drip-like wetting effect that closely resembles drip irrigation. This irrigation approach not only retains the key advantages of tape irrigation—such as uniform water distribution and minimal damage to crops—but also incorporates the benefits of drip irrigation, including even water application, protection of crop integrity, and maintenance of favorable soil properties.
Field micro-sprinkler tape Precautions for Use:
1. Prior to laying the mulch, measures must be taken to eliminate soil-dwelling pests (such as mole crickets) to prevent them from damaging the crops.
2. During installation, orient the holes upward and seal the tail end. Then use a water pump to draw in water and apply pressure. Cover the inlet with a filter screen to prevent blockage of the holes. If blockage occurs, loosen the tail end and flush it with clean water for one minute; alternatively, gently tap the pipe wall with your hand or other tools.
3. During operation, adjust the number of valves opened based on your pump pressure and the working length of the micro-sprinkler tape to prevent damage caused by excessive pressure. If the pressure is insufficient, simply close a few valves; the next time you use it, open the appropriate number of valves accordingly. After testing a particular section of the tape and confirming proper water flow, turn on the valves for that section first, then close all the valves for the previously tested section to avoid damage due to improper operation.
4. When rotating crops, first use a water pump to flush and squeeze the micro-sprinkler tape to clean it thoroughly, then roll it up and store it in a cool, shaded area to prevent rodents and other pests from biting through it, so it can be reused next time.
