Disc Filter – Features of the Disc Filter – Application Conditions for the Disc FilterStacked-plate filters offer excellent filtration performance, easy installation, a small footprint, and long service life, making them one of the most commonly used filters in irrigation systems.I. Principle Explanation of the Lamellar Filter:Thin, color-specific plastic laminates are precision-machined on both sides with a dense array of uniformly sized grooves. A second disc of the same pattern is pressed against a specially designed internal support. When compressed by a spring and fluid pressure, the grooves in the laminates intersect, creating a deep-bed filtration element with a unique network of flow channels. This filtration element is housed within an ultra-high-performance engineering-plastic cartridge, forming a disc-stack filter.During filtration, the filter discs are pressed together by spring force and fluid pressure; the greater the pressure differential, the stronger the clamping force, thereby ensuring self-locking and highly efficient filtration. The liquid flows from the outer edge of the discs through the grooves toward the inner edge, passing through 18 to 32 filtration points to create a unique deep-bed filtration process. After filtration is complete, the discs are manually or hydraulically separated for manual cleaning or automatic backwashing.II. Advantages of Disc Filters:1. Stable filtration performance;2. Deep-bed filtration with outstanding dirt-holding capacity;3. Simple operation and easy maintenance;4. The system features low operating costs, reliable performance, and a long service life.III. Operating Instructions for the Lamella Filter:1. Before using the disc filter, first inspect it to ensure that it is intact and undamaged.2. When installing the disc-type filter, pay attention to the water flow direction (as indicated by the arrow).3. Stacked-plate filter During installation, wrap with Teflon tape to prevent leaks.4. During water testing, the pump pressure for the plate-type filter should not be too high to prevent damage to the filter.5. The disc-type filter requires regular cleaning to remove dirt and impurities from the filter discs.6. Due to the large number of filter discs that are cross-laminated and stacked together, plate-type filters, while delivering excellent filtration performance, inevitably suffer from significant flow resistance and substantial head loss; therefore, careful attention must be paid during operation.7. Disc-type filters are equipped with a backwash function that automatically removes some of the contaminants adhering to the filter discs; however, this process cannot eliminate all impurities. Therefore, it is advisable to periodically open the filter and perform manual cleaning to thoroughly remove stubborn residues from the discs.IV. Disc Filter Models: 32 mm, 50 mm, 63 mm, 90 mmV. Scope of Application: The drip irrigation system for greenhouses and open fields is connected to a fertilizer tank to create an integrated water–fertilizer irrigation system. Finally, thank you for your interest in the disc filter products offered by Hebei Runtian Water-Saving Equipment Co., Ltd.
